Chiropractic treatment has gotten more and more advanced with each decade, and with the addition of new technologies, our upper cervical chiropractor is able to get a 3 dimensional image of your spine, to see exactly what’s going on. This imaging technology has allowed us to get a more detailed analysis of the vertebrae, leading to more specific and more personalized treatment plans, and has eliminated the need for unnecessary popping and cracking style adjustments. Ultimately, our treatment plans are more effective and more efficient than ever before.
Our goal is to get our patients' health restored as efficiently as possible, and to reduce the need for time consuming adjustment appointments. Our process, including the x-ray imaging analysis, has allowed us to pinpoint exactly where the misalignment is occurring, eliminating all guesswork from the equation. As we get more effective, our patients are able to experience relief faster, and get back to living their lives without pain or dysfunction. Our treatment plans are designed to give our patients a reduction in their symptoms, restoration in their spinal alignment, and lasting improvements in health and pain relief.
It is our belief that with regular treatment, any patient can experience improved health and spinal alignment. By combining holistic imaging technology with precise adjustment treatments, our patients are experiencing long lasting relief from pain, and we are able to treat the root issue of spinal misalignment better than ever. If you’re dealing with a spine that is out of natural alignment, this could be affecting the health of the rest of your body as well, leading to symptoms and secondary conditions presenting themselves as a result. Although misalignment of the spine does not always cause neck and back pain, it inhibits the natural healing and nervous system functioning that is necessary for daily health and wellbeing. When the upper cervical spine is misaligned in some way, as a result, the brain stem and nervous system are infringed upon. The brain stem is often called the “Houston control center of the body” because of the effect it has on the rest of the body, and how intertwined it is with the whole nervous system.
Naturally, we want the brainstem and nervous system functioning at optimum capacity, both to correct any misalignment and to address any pain or symptoms presenting as a result, so as upper cervical chiropractors we use the knee chest adjustment technique to address this issue. We use x-ray and imaging technology to view the atlas and axis vertebrae, and note where exactly any issues may be occuring. This allows us to analyze the misalignments, and provide accurate corrections to the spine, using the knee chest technique.
The knee chest technique is extremely gentle, making it a suitable option for patients who may be more sensitive. The spine is a delicate area, and it’s ultimately our goal to make only the most necessary adjustments, so you’re not spending hours in the office for regular adjustments that aren’t needed. If the x-rays that we take indicate a correction is needed, we will analyze the images and tailor the adjustment plan to provide the best care. Knee- chest simply describes the position the patient is in during the adjustment- generally with knees on a padded surface, and chest on the table. This allows the chiropractor the best access to the upper cervical region, so Dr. Cave can make the needed adjustments in a careful and detailed manner.
After the adjustment we will take you to the recovery room to rest and relax for several minutes, since you may be experiencing some soreness, muscle relief, and general fatigue. Taking these few minutes to rest after your adjustment allows your body to adjust, relax, and begin the healing process.
